Living, playing football and studying in Manchester, England as a teenager or young adult represents an enormous challenge for both the participant and the educators. From the participant courage, effort and character is required to succeed. From the staff, it demands professional guidance, supervision, mentorship and expertise in order to provide the required level of service to our young student-athletes.
EduKick Manchester staff are keenly aware of the challenges that our Academy presents to our players so they are fully committed to the overall education of each individual through our football development and language immersion program.
EduKick Football Academies distinguishes itself with its commitment to safety, security and supervision. Football Academies' students have adult monitors/mentors assigned to them as part of the program for continual service, supervision and mentorship. EduKick Football Academies participant events and activities are also carefully monitored and supervised. All football player participants are required to carry personal health insurance. During our technical training sessions we have on-site non-emergency medical trainers and personnel who can provide basic athletic-injury care and support. Good communication is needed. On arrival, trade telephone numbers with your host. Always text or call your host if you are going to be late or talk to them if there are any foods you don't like. If there is something which you do not understand or if something makes you feel uncomfortable, tell your host immediately. Our hosts are experienced with hosting students from all around the world and are here to help you feel at home.
If you are unhappy about something, but do not feel comfortable discussing it with your host, please speak with Julie, our Accommodation and Welfare Officer - julie@ihmanchester.com. Remember, most hosts and their students form a genuine friendship that can last for the rest of their lives!
We select our host families based upon their suitability to welcome our students. Our students come from all over the world with different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and religious beliefs. Our staff and host family providers accept our all of our students and welcome them unconditionally, irrespective of all these different factors. It would be completely wrong for them to not do this. Our Equality Policy reflects and incorporates UK legislation that makes it illegal to discriminate against individuals based upon gender, race, ethnicity or religion. For all these reasons, we also expect our international students to be accepting and tolerant of others who they may meet, study with and live with in Manchester.

The police might also get involved if this does not get resolved quickly.

Students must travel independently from the homestay to the city centre school each day, using public transport. Your host will help you to know the best way to do this.
The cost per week of travel to the student can range from £25.00 - £30.00 per week. The cost depends on the location of the selected homestay.
All our homestay hosts live in the residential areas, outside the city centre. Journey time from homestay to school can be anywhere between 20 and 45 minutes.
It is possible that they offer to do so more often but please discuss this schedule with them, and try to re-wear non dirty clothes - it will be good for the planet!
Remember that people in Britain may do things differently to what you are accustomed. It is easier to misunderstand a situation when communicating in a foreign language. If you are unsure about something, ask your host family or Julie in school.
Our affiliation with City Centre School provides a solid formal education for our student athletes.
Players can either follow High School studies (mandatory for U16 year old players) or focus on learning the English language.

English Language Study is the main option for Edukick Manchester over 16 year old participants. Taught at International House Language School (IH), Edukick players will enroll on an intensive course adapted to their level of English. IH methodology is based on real communication, and is taught by native teachers in continuing professional development.
Edukick Manchester recommends players to enroll for the DELE examination taking place on May each year. It is a smart way of clossing up the Year Long program and a world wide recognized way to credit the English level acquired.
