Reading (
PRWEB) October 4, 2006 -- The UK’s fastest growing sportslifestyle brand today launches The Association of Football Coaches at the Madejski Stadium.
The Association of Football Coaches is an independent association, fully supported by PUMA that will help coaches and teachers of today to produce the players and teams of tomorrow. The AFC consists of coaches of all abilities who are involved in the coaching of football to players of all levels, ages and gender.
Richard Callaway, Teamsports Marketing Manager at PUMA comments: “We are very pleased to be able to support The Association of Football Coaches because it gives us an opportunity to continue contributing directly to grassroots football. Anyone can join the scheme as it is not restricted to coaches with previous qualifications - including teachers, youth team coaches, managers and all those individuals coaching football.”
In the first year each coach that joins the scheme will receive a free branded tracksuit, access to six coaching seminar events per year featuring PUMA Football players and coaches and regular information, updates and communication of coaching drills, activities and ideas.
Phil Darren, AFC Director of Coaching says: “As well as trying to develop the skill and technique of players, all the games and practices that we will offer to members are designed to be fun and to give variety to training. If young players enjoy training they will want to come back for more.”
Peter Crouch, Liverpool & England striker continues: “There is nothing like this in the football industry at the moment and it provides a wonderful opportunity for all coaches at all levels.”
Further coaching seminars will take place in Coventry, Leicester, London and Bristol throughout the season.
