(PRWEB) September 23, 2005 -- The students at Pima Medical Institute, 370 Printers Parkway in Colorado Springs are in the second phase of a food and supply drive for victims of Hurricane Katrina and now are also accepting donations at the campus from the public to help in the relief effort.

Items such as batteries, diapers, depends, clothes, shoes, non-perishable foot items that are easy to open and do not need to be cooked like granola bars, tuna, crackers, baby food, juice boxes and Gatorade are needed. Toiletries such as toothpaste, soap and toothbrushes, as well as household items like sheets and towels are also being accepted.
“Our students really stepped up to the plate to pitch in and help the people who have been affected by this disaster,” said Karen McGrath, campus director for the Colorado Springs career college. “However, it's an ongoing need and we are happy to use our campus as a collection site so people in the community can come by and make donations as well.”
The Colorado Springs campus has programs for Dental Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician and Veterinary Assistant.
