(PRWEB) November 13, 2005 -- Student | Space, Santa Fe Community College and The Institute of American Indian Arts, co-sponsors of this conference in Santa Fe, NM, launched the 2nd Annual Student|Track 05 Conference on October 20-21, 2005 which was attended by leading educators, faculty, participants and Title V Program Officers from Department of Education

Another unique surprise for the attendees was a Welcome Letter from both the Governor of the State of New Mexico, Honorable Bill Richardson and a Welcome Letter from the Mayor of Santa Fe, New Mexico- Honorable Mayor Larry Delgado, in each Registration Package.
The theme of the conference was “Measuring institutions success in preparing today’s at-risk students for the future” and was given by Key Note Speaker Dr. Chuck Dull, Assistant Director, Higher Learning Commission North Central Association of Colleges and Schools on the first day. The agenda was started off with welcoming remarks by Dr. Richard Tobin.
On the second day the Key Note Speaker Richard Gentile, Associate Dean, Occupational Therapy, Technical and Vocational Institute, Albuquerque, NM on the subject of
“Overcoming the frustrations of our traditional Student Information Systems in student tracking, intervention and accurate reporting."
One of the honored Guest Speakers was David Trujillo, Grants Director, Northern New Mexico Community College, Española, New Mexico who spoke on the theme, “Funding and Optimizing Your Student Tracking Investment”.
Other presentations were made by Sarab Singh called “SchoolVIEW: Bringing the power of the Student|Space’s data-warehouse solution’s to the non-technical user” and “Grant Tracking and Reporting.” Also, Sarab Singh spoke on “Introducing the 5th Generation Hilbert’s engine to overcome the overhead of Data Analysis in traditional Databases (Tech Track)”.
Other speakers were Kurt Carr, Student|Space/Manager Professional Services, spoke on two subjects: Overcoming Data Integration Hurdles and Interactive Reporting.
Also, Dr. Steven Cox, University of Rio Grande, Ohio spoke on Student|Space software called “CAMPUS 360”, a proprietary utility that has all aspects of student tracking, intervention and student retention and more.
On the last evening of the conference a presentation was given by Dr. Frances Levine, Director, Palace of the Governors on “The Cultural History of New Mexico”.

Classes for hands-on training and demos to attendees and most classes were well attended. Presentation was given as well as an award ceremony the last evening held at a Santa Fe jewel, called “The Ghost Ranch.
The conference itself was held on the campus grounds of The Institute of American Indian Arts (I.A.I.A.) and two special ceremonies were held in the Hogan, a sacred Native American traditional place of worship and sharing.
Title V Officers provided technical and monitoring assistance to the Title V Southwest institutions that attended the conference and were able to conduct a pre-application workshop for potential institutions also on the I.A.I.A. campus. The Title V Program Officers were: Josephine Hamilton (Team Leader) Darryl Davis, Carlin Hertz and Nalini Lamba-Nieves.
“This was a highly successful conference!” declared Sarab Singh/Vice President of Technology. This was voiced by many of the attendees who asked to be notified of the next conference which is tentatively scheduled for March or April of 2006 and many were intrigued at the versatility and potentiality of Student|Space software, “Full Circle Tracking.” They had not been aware that there was software –in the enrollment management field- able to specifically customize to each school
