custom “Team Tour” to Umbria, Italy beginning March 24, 2006.

“  Most of these girls have competed at the highest level of play in their province and as high as nationals but this beats it all! When we interviewed the group and asked what do you think will be the most exciting part of this tour they became speechless b
The teams will be based in Perugia, the capital of Umbria, about two hours north of Rome. Perugia is a very lively and cosmopolitan University town with distinct Italian charm and history. The main street in the historic “old” center, where the Celtic tour will do a guided “walking tour”, is a broad pedestrian thoroughfare constantly buzzing with action.

The Pumas and Panthers girl squads belong to the Calgary Celtic Soccer Club (http://www.calgarycelticsoccer.com/). The club has almost 900 players registered, with 50 plus teams and is one of the largest in the province. Girls form almost 60% of the club. The recreational soccer program is well developed and on the competitive side, Celtic has won two national championships. Many Celtic players have been selected to Provincial, Alberta Summer Games, Canada Games, and a few to the Canadian National Team.

EduKick is very proud to be hosting both of these soccer teams on what is sure to be the “Italian Culture & Soccer Experience of a Lifetime!” EduKick, Inc. V.P., Joey Bilotta, says, “I’m excited for the girls…touring Europe with your soccer mates is really a dream come true for any soccer player or coach. Congratulations to Coach Carlucci and the other parents for making this dream become a reality for them. It will be an experience that will greatly influence them as players and young ladies.”

EduKick’s affiliate partner, the Italian Football Academy (IFA), will meet the Celtic teams and a group of eleven accompanying coaches and parents in Rome as they arrive and escort them to their host city, Perugia. The Italian Football Academy, known in Italy simply as IFA, is a professional soccer organization that previously operated AC Perugia Scuola Calcio. IFA will overlook all aspects of the girl’s tour, including; airport pick-up & drop-off, providing a bilingual guide, hotel lodging at the Four star Holiday Inn, outfitting the girls in soccer training gear, organizing three “friendly” matches against Italian female competition, conducting soccer-training sessions for the girls under the guidance of IFA Technical Football Director, Bruno Redolfi and his staff, organizing a full-day excursion to Rome for the group, attending a AS Lazio – AS Parma Serie A professional soccer match, organizing day trips, evening social activities and much more!

Puma & Panther Head Coach, John Carlucci, had this to say, “The girls are counting the days to experience one of the greatest tours

of their young soccer careers. Most of these girls have competed at the highest level of play in their province and as high as nationals but this beats it all! When we interviewed the group and asked what do you think will be the most exciting part of this tour they became speechless because the tours offers them so much. Is it the cultural experience? Is it the opportunity to be trained by one of the most respected technical coaches in Italy or is it the opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful countries in the world? These questions will only be answered once they return and pinch themselves to realize it was not just a dream…but it actually really happened.”

EduKick wishes the Celtic Teams and their coaches and parents a safe and fruitful tour. Is your team ready for an EduKick hosted European tour? Call EduKick today to receive a free “Team Tour” tour proposal!
