August 17, 2005 -- Russell J. Figueira has been named Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations at The American College. Figueira will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing a wide range of alumni activities and programs designed to engage and involve The College’s current and future alumni, friends and supporters. In this position Figueira will oversee a comprehensive alumni program including events, communications and volunteer management.

“Russ is an outstanding addition to the college community,” said H. King McGlaughon, Jr., JD, MDiv., Executive Vice President, the Sallie B. and William B. Wallace Chair in Philanthropy and a Professor of Philanthropic Studies at The American College. “His organizational and project management experience with some of the nation’s leading companies make him the ideal person to help us launch successful alumni chapters and events.”
Before joining The American College, Figueira was the Senior Director of Project Management and Human Capital with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). Figueira has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tufts University, a Master of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island, a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts/Harvard University, and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Widener University.
