(PRWEB) April 16, 2006 -- The folks at Pima Medical Institute, 957 S. Dobson Road in Mesa put their “soles” into the fight against lung disease when more than 60 students, faculty and staff donated their time, energy and expertise to raise more than $5,000 in funds for the American Lung Association’s Asthma Walk on April 8.

Additional efforts by the career college included free body massages for volunteers performed by PMI’s Massage Therapy students. Respiratory Therapy student, Mike Burk designed a special T-shirt with the Pima Medical Institute logo to unify the career college’s efforts. Additional fundraising prior to the walk included a bake sale, as well as a root beer float campaign to drum up more volunteers.
