May 14, 2005 -- On Saturday, May 21st, the Big Bear Valley Astronomical Society (BBVS) and StarGazers Inn & Observatory will sponsor Oh My Stars! (OMS!) Workshop for Educators. OMS! is an emersion in basic astronomy using indoor and outdoor hands-on activities designed to engage educators and their students.
Go on a “star search” and discover the birthplace of stars. Follow a variety of stars through their evolutionary process. Manipulate the fabric of time and space and take an imaginary journey into a black hole! Visit neighboring stars with planets and bring back a postcard.
The OMS! Educator’s Workshop is 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. After a dinner break, focus will turn to the night sky with the assistance of BBVAS star guides. Using of a variety of binoculars, telescopes and the StarGazers Inn’s Observatory, workshop attendees will have the opportunity to view near and deep space objects, find stars with planetary systems, and view stars in a variety of evolutionary stages from star clouds to Super Nova remnants.

OMS! is a must for anyone in love with the night sky and will whet your appetite for more. Workshop is designed for educators for grades 5-12. Participants will receive a beautiful Certificate of Completion. Workshop may qualify for Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.).
