FA 262 is the first of two new courses created specifically for the designation by The College. The other course FA 263 'Foundations of Financial Planning: The Process' is scheduled for an October release. Prior to this course, students in the FSS program could enroll in the required ethics course 'Ethics for the Financial Services Professional' or three of 11 available electives.
FA 262 provides an overview of the major components that make up a comprehensive financial plan, including the six step planning process, insurance planning, risk management, and estate planning. This is the only introductory course where all the components of the financial planning process are brought together in an integrated and comprehensive manner.
Courses in the FSS program are being offered in a classroom setting conjunction with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) through its local associations nationwide. For more information on the designation contact The American College at www.TheAmericanCollege.edu or NAIFA at www.NAIFA.org.
