“ We invited people to sign up to get a first hand look at how artists can be benefit from the VoIP revolution ”
Gingerbread Media, a division of Appian Inc.
announced its KanTalk VoIP software successfully began its ascent into the entertainment industry with a release party at the world famous Whisky A Go-Go on Monday night December 19th, 2005. Present were music executives Paul Fishkin (Stevie Nicks, Foghat, Hush), Phil Ehart (Kansas, Granite Records), Michael Rosen (Montana Artist Agency); screenwriter Clay Ayres (The Watcher), Peter Grant, the CEO of Voice Commerce Group and others, as well as a house full of invited guests of 17 year old singer/songwriter Kandice Melonakos who is the host of KanTalk!
Kandice and crew gave a sneak peak of their debut album, including playing the Kandice-written songs “Will It Ever Be Me,” (produced by Christian Mark) and “Eaten Alive,” (produced by Damien Valentine, music performance by Plastic Jones.) “The response to our music was incredible,” says Dim Jones, guitarist of the rock group Plastic Jones, “and the whole KanTalk! thing blew everyone’s mind.” KanTalk! registration page can be found on www.kandicemusic.com
Kandice and the crowd were surprised with an electrifying performance by another emerging young superstar, 14 year old rock violinist Antonio Pontarelli. “He was amazing,” said Kandice. “I want to collaborate with him--he's so talented.”
“We invited people to sign up to get a first hand look at how artists can be benefit from the VoIP revolution,” says Tolga Katas, president of Appian, Inc. “The Whisky A Go-Go was the perfect venue for the launch of KanTalk! Since it's opening in 1964, the Whisky A Go-Go has played host to rock 'n' roll's most important bands such as the Doors, Janis Joplin, and Led Zeppelin.”
From rock to punk to heavy metal, the Whisky stood at the forefront of many musical trends. “Perhaps this will be another trend. Already four music acts, including multiplatinum recording artists, are currently in talks with us to add their own voicepods to the KanTalk! music community,” says Tolga Katas.
