June 22, 2005 -- The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) honored the Memphis with honorable mention in the Awards & Recognition category during the “Best-of-the-Best” in chapter practices competition at the HSMAI Chapter Leadership Forum held in Portland, OR.
The 25th Annual HSMAI Frank W. Berkman Chapter Awards Program was presented at the annual Leadership Forum, attended by more than 75 HSMAI delegates representing chapters in the Americas region.
The competition (for the 2004 calendar year) awarded winners in nine categories, recognizing both large and small chapters: Awards & Recognition, Communications, Community Involvement, Educational Programming, Fundraising, Leadership, Partnership Development, Membership Retention and Development and Web Sites.
Winners were selected in each category based on a “quality” point system determined by the HSMAI “Best-of-the-Best” Advisory Committee and HSMAI Americas Board of Directors. Entries were judged independently by the board of directors from 27 chapters.
