According to SEP organizer and New England area magician BJ Hickman, "The first showcase last year at the University of New Hampshire gave rise to a second NH showcase and a new Massachusetts Showcase. This year, performing artists at the New Hampshire Showcase are coming from as far away as Canada (Faustwork Mask Theatre and Mime Trent Arterbery), Connecticut (Drumming About You), New Jersey, and Rhode Island. The Massachusetts Showcase includes James Gelsey, author of the Scooby-Doo! Mysteries from New Jersey, and Dinoman National Theater for Young Audiences of Vermont.
