) students are New Mexico's and maybe even America’s first class to have entered the world-wide-web with their own student authored web site. In January the ESL students started authoring a web site blog.
“ The beauty about this blogging forum is that the students love it. ”
“A blog is a web site that acts like an online journal” explains ESL teacher Meaghan Anderson. Students go online in class and write short entries about a variety of topics – fun topics like their favorite movies or sports team and serious topics like the war in Iraq and discrimination.
“The beauty about this blogging forum is that the students love it. They really have so much to say and love to share their thoughts with each other. Plus, from my perspective blogging gets the students excited about learning English, thinking, reading, writing, interacting with each other and developing computer skills” says Anderson.
The web site can be found at http://www.MeaghanAnderson.com/esl.
