“ We hope to introduce these delegates to area educational performing artists in dance, ethnic and folk arts, interdisciplinary arts, multidisciplinary arts, media arts, music, theater, visual arts, puppetry, magic, and storytellin... ”
According to MASEP organizer BJ Hickman, "Last year's NH Showcase was such a huge success that we decided to produce one for Massachusetts also. MASEP features a diverse roster of educational performing artists. A group of leading musicians, story tellers, theater groups, puppeteers, and others are ready to share the platform for this day long program. Inkas Wasi will share the music and culture of Peru. Alex the Jester will engage imaginations. Dr. Quinton Quark of Slapstick Science will present a portion of one of his fun-filled science shows. Over thirty other performing artists will perform and exhibit. Now, we have to spread the word to potential delegates from schools, libraries, outreach programs, arts centers, and recreation facilities. We hope to introduce these delegates to area educational performing artists in dance, ethnic and folk arts, interdisciplinary arts, multidisciplinary arts, media arts, music, theater, visual arts, puppetry, magic, and storytelling. It will be a wonderful day."
The day-long event includes continuous samples of educational performances, an opportunity to meet with the artists, lunch, prizes donated by the performing artists, and an exhibit area.
Seating is limited and advance registration is recommended by May 1 for this June 10 Massachusetts showcase. A similar showcase with different performing artists is scheduled in New Hampshire on June 3.
