Announcing Pansies For Pakistan Fundraiser - Proceeds To Benefit UNICEF's South Asia Earthquake Relief Efforts: Buy Pansies and Help Children Who Survived The Disaster

(PRWEB) November 14, 2005 -- Everyone can now join in the Pansies For Pakistan campaign to support UNICEF programs that help children who survived the devastating earthquake in South Asia. Simply buy the beautiful hand-raised pansies and violas to support this relief effort, or help out by volunteering to plant and water plugs, deliver plants, take orders, link to the Web site, or distribute fundraiser flyers.

Cedar Brook Farms® in Fairfield, North Carolina is growing pansies and violas and donating materials and labor to benefit this fundraiser. Local volunteers are helping to hand-plant pansy and viola plugs into containers and care for the growing plants, which will be ready for pick-up or delivery starting November 15 through December 31.

Your payment is made directly to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF as a tax-deductible donation. You can make your payment online by credit card, mail a check to the fundraiser address, or pay by check or cash in person when you receive your pansies. 100% of your purchase will benefit UNICEF's South Asia earthquake relief efforts to provide emergency assistance and lifesaving supplies for children and families who survived the devastating disaster.

This fundraiser was established to help UNICEF raise much needed funds so that the organization can respond quickly to the most urgent needs of children and families in the region. In exchange for each donation, UNICEF supporters can enjoy colorful annuals that will blossom over the coming months.

Pansies and violas will be delivered to drop-off locations designated throughout Eastern North Carolina, including areas between the Outer Banks and Raleigh, to Richmond Virginia, North Myrtle Beach South Carolina, and other locations (see Web site for exact locations).

You can also choose to donate to this fundraiser and have Cedar Brook Farms® and volunteers plant your pansies at a location within designated drop-off areas in your honor, such as a local house or worship, civic center, charitable organization, school

Helping Children In Critical Need Of Your Support
---------------------------------------------------------------
There is an urgent need for everyone to give to the children hit by last month's earthquake in South Asia, which killed more than 73,000 people (official toll as of Nov. 3, 2005), and made more than three million homeless. At least 17,000 Pakistani children died when their schools collapsed in the giant Oct. 8 earthquake, and it is estimated that some 1.6 million to 2.2 million surviving children have been affected. And the earthquake has gravely affected at least two other countries, India and Afghanistan.

The United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, sprang into action just hours after the earthquake struck. UNICEF trucks loaded with emergency medical supplies, children’s clothing, water purification materials, nutritional supplements, and blankets and plastic tarpaulins are on route to northern Pakistan and other affected areas.

The Associated Press has reported that hundreds of school children were killed when their schools collapsed during the earthquake. Homes, schools, mosques and other buildings have been destroyed or have been severely damaged. Beyond the physical damage, children and their families could suffer from emotional trauma. UNICEF is working to help these children regain some sense of normalcy.

You can help UNICEF by placing your order for pansies and violas today, and 100% of your payment will be a tax-deductible donation to benefit UNICEF's South Asia earthquake relief efforts.
