, PeléStation showcases the life of Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as “Pelé.” Through detailed biographies and modern technology, the exhibition that open on June 8th, highlights the life and qualities that were decisive in Pele’s unique sporting career: creativity, capability, teamwork, endurance and success.
The exhibit also includes seven short video films depicting Pelé’s greatest accomplishments both within the world of football and beyond. In addition, fans can admire more than 25 objects from Pelé’s career, including a rarely exhibited portrait by Andy Warhol, the ball that scored Pele his 1000th goal, his No. 10 jersey and a selection of football cups. Pelé finished his career in the New York Cosmos, in 1977.
Following the exhibit, guests are invited to experience the Rio de Janeiro Space, a neighboring lounge hosted by the Rio Convention & Visitors Bureau. Brochures and tourist information on The Marvelous City and Rio de Janeiro State will be available, as well as local flavors, including icy caipirinhas and Brazilian hors d’oeuvres. Fans can watch the World Cup games on big screen televisions and partake in live musical performances from Thursday to Sunday.
Located at the U3 station, Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, the “PeléStation – The Legend in Action” exhibit and Rio de Janeiro Space will remain open for the duration of the World Cup, or until July 9th. Hours are from 10am to 9pm daily. The exhibit is free for children under 6, and is € 15.00 for everyone else.
