, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS) http://www.ifers.org is proud to present the 2006 Annual Scholarship Awards Reception. The event will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the American Film Institute http://www.afi.com in Hollywood, California.

Up to three (3) best student papers will be selected to share the $15,000 scholarships. A student must be the lead author. One or more students may collaborate with academic scholars or industry experts on one or more papers. Please submit papers (clearly marked "scholarship") to ACM Computers in Entertainment http://www.acm.org/pubs/cie.html before June 1, 2006.

The silent auction includes 1-hour individual brainstorming sessions with Alan Kay, Seamus Blackley, and Seymour Papert. Alan Kay is one of the earliest pioneers of object-oriented programming, personal computing, and graphical user interfaces. A co-creator of the Xbox gaming platform at Microsoft, Seamus Blackley is an agent at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Seymour Papert is considered the world's foremost expert on how technology can provide new ways for children to learn
